Graduate Student Program

Renmin Law School graduate student program consists of Master Program and Doctorate Program.

Qualification

　　1. Master Program: applicants should obtain a bachelor degree or above

　　 Doctorate Program: applicants should obtain a master degree or above

　　2. Recommended Master Program Applicants (exempt from examination)

　　Excellent foreign students graduated from famous international universities recognized by Chinese Ministry of Education; good at study and proficient in Chinese.

Application Procedure

　　a) Visit the website and fill the form

　　b) Download Renmin University International Students Master, Doctorate Degree Program Application Form, fill the form and print in A4 paper.

　　c)application materials:

　　  Renmin University International Students Master, Doctorate Degree Program Application Form

　　  Relevant education certificate and original copy of GPA

　　  For master program, recommendation letters from two associate professors are needed; for doctorate program, recommendation letters from two professors are needed

　　  Four recently photos

　　  Copies of published academic paper, awards and other academic accomplishments

　　  Personal statement, for master program, no less than 1000 words, for doctorate program no less than 1500 words, all written in Chinese.

　　d) Eligibility check.

　　During the period from September 10,2014 to May 31, 2015, applicants take all the materials to Renmin University International Students Office for the check. (Saturday and Sunday are not available)

　　e) Pay for application fee. Applicants visit room 409, block B, Keyan Building, pay 600 RMB and handover all the application materials. (Saturday and Sunday are not available)

Assessment Methods

　　a) Only-to- interview Applicants

　　  Law school will arrange interview in Chinese

　　  Certain paper test may be required

　　b) Recommended applicants exempt from paper test

　　  Interview in Chinese

　　c) Common applicants

　　University will arrange paper test and interview.

　　  Master program: in Chinese (If mother tongue Chinese, write in English). Two tests for its major. 

　　  Doctorate program: in Chinese (If mother tongue Chinese, write in English). Two tests for its major. If applicants cross discipline, two extra tests for the major are required.

　　d) Government Exchange Applicants  

　　After checking by our university, applicants can enroll exempt from interview and tests. For master program students, one year course learning is required (Chinese studying excluded). If pass the examination, applicants can continue its study in China, complete its academic paper, obtain master degree. If failing the examination, applicants should leave and go back to its country with a non-degree certificate.

Tuition

　　 Master program 28200RMB per year

　　 Doctorate program 29800RMB per year

　　Tuition should be paid within five days after the beginning of the academic year. If applicants unable to do so, he or she should apply for late payment. If the late payment application is approved by the university, the applicants should pay extra 5% overdue fine.

Learning Duration

　　 Master program: two to three years

　　 Doctorate program: three years
